Bizen ware vessels have many tiny pores. Because of their excellent breathability, they are said to enhance the aroma of sake and make it mellower.
Yukihiro Shima, Traditional Craftsperson of Bizen Ware

Bizen ware has a 1000-year history. Without using glaze, it is fired for a week in a traditional climbing kiln using pine firewood. No two pieces are alike, as the patterns are created by pine ash and the flow of the flames. We hope you will cherish this unique item for a lifetime, as its luster improves with use.

[Before use]
Bizen ware is made without using glazes and is made only by sanding, so when you first start using it, it may have rough clay lumps or ash on it. Therefore, when you get a Bizen ware, it is important to wash it thoroughly with a sponge before using it.

[Care instructions]
For the first few months, soak it in clean water for about 30 minutes before use to remove dirt and moisture. You can use dishwashing detergent, but we recommend letting it dry naturally without using a dishwasher or dryer.

[For stubborn stains]
If oil or dirt accumulates in the grooves, they will need to be cleaned regularly.
You can remove stubborn stains and sterilize your Bizen ware by placing it in a large pot of room temperature water and bringing it to a boil. If there are tea or coffee stains, you can clean them with a very diluted bleach such as Clorox, or dissolve a teaspoon of baking soda in hot water and leave it in the dish for an hour before rinsing it off thoroughly.

[Please continue to support us for a long time]
The more you use Bizen ware, the smoother it becomes and the more it fits comfortably in your hand.
It is not colored and is made to preserve the natural texture, so the color will become deeper and more flavorful as you use it. Sudden changes in temperature can cause it to crack, so please avoid putting things that are too cold or too hot in it.
